First Steps
Please contact the School of Graduate Studies if you have any questions about the following information.
Instructions for Network Account Activation
If you already have an active CWRU Network ID, please go to the next section. You should be able to login to the Student Information System (SIS) and register using your existing account information.
Activate your CWRU Network ID and create your password at the following link:
https://its-services.case.edu/my-case-identity/activate/get_pin
Your Network ID is your passport to CWRU’s networking and computing services (SIS, Webmail, the Software Center and more). It is composed of your first, middle and last initials followed by numbers (e.g. abc123).
- In order to activate your Network ID, you must use the Student ID number that the School of Graduate Studies emailed to your personal email address. This number is also known as your PeopleSoft ID or your EmplID.
- You will be required to enter your last name as well as your birth date in order to confirm your identity.
NOTE: You will not be able to access your SIS account until the day after you activate your Network ID.
Course Registration
You will be unable to register for classes until the start of open Graduate registration. You may go to www.case.edu/registrar/online/when.html to check when Graduate students may register for courses.
-
Contact your advisor to request that your advising hold on your registration be released. This hold is placed automatically each semester. (If you do not know who your advisor is, contact the department to which you applied).
- Non-Degree Students: Please contact the Senior Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, Denise Douglas to release your advising hold.
- Login to SIS at www.case.edu/sis using your CWRU Network ID and password.
-
Search for classes online at www.case.edu/registrar/soc.html.
- When searching for courses, be sure to change the “Course Career” search field to “Graduate” or blank.
-
Register for your selected courses (download the Registration Guide for detailed instructions).
- You may need to request permission to enroll in the course. Instructions for requesting permissions through SIS may be found here.
- Prerequisites: It is the student's responsibility to meet any prerequisites for courses. You may request that the instructor waive the prerequisites.
